A number is a quantity, too
Put four spoons on the table. Touch each once while saying एक, दो, तीन, चार. Then ask for दो spoons. Change the arrangement: the number stays the same.
Two numeral forms, one number
२५ and 25 both mean twenty-five. The Hindi word is पच्चीस. Practise matching the numeral forms before writing every word.
A few names at a time
Hindi number words are not made by simply joining a tens word to a ones word. Read 21-30 together, cover two names and try to recall them. Revisit the same group another day.
Spelling note
You may see variants such as पन्द्रह for पंद्रह or तिरसठ for तिरेसठ. Use your school's preferred spelling.
